Friends of Taconic State Park will host a First Day Hike to Bash Bish Falls on Friday, January 1, 2016 beginning at 1pm. The event is part of a nationwide initiative launched by the organization America’s State Parks to encourage Americans to begin the New Year by rejuvenating and connecting with the outdoors.
The January 1st hike to Bash Bish Falls will follow the new “Iron Works Heritage Trail” created by the Friends group last spring, when 25 interpretive signs were installed throughout the Copake Iron Works Historic District, listed on the national and state registers. It is a family friendly hike of about four miles.
All ages are welcome, as are well-mannered dogs on leashes. Young people are especially encouraged to attend. Hikers meet at 1pm at the Park office building on Route 344 in Copake Falls.
