On Saturday, May 18 from 11 am to 2pm, the Roeliff Jansen Historical Society invites children and their families to join the first Family Day at the historical society museum at 8 Miles Road in Copake Falls, NY.
Inside the museum, decked out with antique toys and books, kids of all ages will have the opportunity to play old time games, hear stories, and learn how things were done in the days before electricity. Families can also venture outside for a scavenger hunt to discover amazing details about the area’s hidden history.
Continue your path through history at the Copake Iron Works National Heritage Area Site at 35 Valley View Road in Copake Falls where you’ll be invited to walk into the belly of the blast furnace and put your hands on the actual tools and equipment that were used by ironworkers in the 1800s.
